Unattended Children Policy

Unattended Children Policy

All children under the age of 7 years old must be accompanied in the library by an adult, who directly supervises the child during their visit.

Children under the age of 7 that are left unattended will be assisted by library staff in finding their parent/responsible adult.

If the parent/responsible adult is not located inside the library, a staff member will stay with the child until the adult is located. Under no circumstances will a librarian leave the building with the child.

If the library is closed/closing, and the responsible adult can’t be found, 2 library staff members will stay with the child.

If the adult is not reached within the hour,

the Menominee Police Department will be contacted.
